Our Executive Committee is responsible for the day-to-day running of the IA. It’s a highly experienced team made up of people with deep expertise of the investment industry, its challenges and its opportunities. Chris Cummings Chief Executive, The Investment Association Chris joined the IA in 2016 from TheCityUK, which he set up and ran as CEO for seven years. He sits on the Treasury’s Asset Management Taskforce, the Board of EFAMA (European Fund & Asset Management Association) and is the President of IIFA (International Investment Funds Association). He is also Chairman of Just Finance Foundation. He was previously a member of the FCA’s Regulatory Decisions Committee and the FCO’s Diplomatic Excellence Panel. Jack Knight Deputy Chief Executive As Deputy CEO, Jack helps Chris to lead the IA Executive Committee. He is responsible for international trade & investment policy and activity, as well as the organisation’s finance, HR, IT and membership functions, including the IA Enterprises events, training and Engine business lines. Galina Dimitrova Director, Investment & Capital Markets Galina has overall responsibility for the IA’s work on investments and capital markets, including quality of asset classes, such as Equity, Fixed-income, FX, Infrastructure, and Private Markets. She has oversight of all IA Special Committees and ETFs, as well as all trading, market infrastructure and investment operations’ matters relevant to IA members. Central to her portfolio is helping members with the evolving S&RI landscape and working together towards an economy, society and planet fit for the future. Galina is a member of the UK Risk Free Rate Working Group, the ICE LIBOR Oversight Committee, the Bank of England FX Joint Standing Committee and TheCityUK Board of Directors. Jonathan Lipkin Director, Policy, Strategy & Innovation Jonathan joined the IA in 2005, becoming Director of Public Policy and a member of the IA Executive Committee in 2012. His current role focuses on how the industry serves its customer markets. This includes areas such as products and competition; fund communications and governance; and the long-term savings and pensions regimes in the UK and internationally. He also works closely on the IA’s broader strategic positioning and leads its programme to support industry innovation. Andrew Ninian Director, Stewardship, Risk & Tax Andrew represents the IA’s members’ interests on all stewardship and corporate governance matters. He also oversees the IA’s Institutional Voting Information Service (IVIS). Andrew is also a member of the FTSE Russell Policy Advisory Board and the Hampton Alexander Review Advisory Group. Before joining the IA, Andrew worked at the ABI (Association of British Insurers) for ten years, where he was Head of Corporate Governance. Karis Stander Director, Culture, Talent & Inclusion, MD, Investment20/20 Karis leads the Culture, Talent and Inclusion team at the IA supporting members in driving a forward looking, responsible and inclusive industry that attracts, develops and retains talented people from all backgrounds, from early careers through to senior leaders. She is the MD of Investment20/20, the IA’s multi-award winning talent solution, that has enabled more than 2,000 young people to start their careers in the industry. Karen Northey Director, Corporate Affairs Karen leads the Corporate Affairs function at the IA, which includes communications, digital, UK government affairs and European affairs. Before joining the IA in March 2022, Karen was Head of Government Relations and Regulatory Strategy, Asia Pacific at the London Stock Exchange Group. Previously, Karen worked at the Financial Conduct Authority where she held a number of roles including leading the FCA’s international relations function and the asset management and funds policy team. Miranda Seath Director, Market Insight & Fund Sectors Miranda leads the team analysing data and trends in UK investment management, producing evidence-based insight to support the IA’s policy agenda. The division provides insight to members and external stakeholders through the Investment Management Survey, retail funds market commentary and investor research. Miranda is also responsible for the IA Sectors, the fund classification scheme designed to help UK investors navigate the retail fund universe. Miranda joined the IA in May 2019. Before joining, she was Research Director at Platforum and NextWealth, research and consulting firms focused on retail investment distribution.
