FCA publishes its programme of work on streamlining requirements, its priorities for 2025-26 and a letter to the Chancellor on the Consumer Duty wholesale review

Further to circular 092-25, the FCA has today published a significant set of updates, detailing progress across two key workstreams focused on streamlining regulatory requirements and reducing the regulatory burden on firms. The package of work includes:

• Consumer Duty requirements review: update (streamlining regulation)
• FCA letter to the Chancellor on the Consumer Duty’s application to wholesale firms
• FCA Consumer Duty focus areas 2025-26.

The workstreams aim to simplify requirements following the introduction of Consumer Duty, supporting growth and offering firms greater flexibility, predictability, and efficiency.
