With the removal of CF 30’s and certain types of NED’s from the FCA Register on commencement of SM&CR for solo regulated firms in Dec 19, there has been an increasing focus on its intended replacement – The Directory.

The Directory is the new public register for checking the details of key people working in financial services. As part of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR), the directory will provide a wide range of information that firms will be responsible for notifying to the FCA.

Banks and Insurers were originally required to have their data uploaded by the 9th March 2020 however following the coronavirus outbreak, the FCA have delayed the publication of the directory of certified and assessed persons, which was due to be published by the end of March.  The FCA have commented that this will be delayed for at least a month and that the revised timing of publication is now under review, and there will be further updates on timing in due course. Solo regulated firms have until the 9th Dec 2020 to upload their data but this may also be extended.

Join Sarah Thwaites, Senior Policy Adviser, Business, Risk, Culture & Resilience at the IA and Julie Pardy, Director of Regulation & Market Engagement at Worksmart Ltd, for an informative walk through of the current extended requirements and challenges a firm’s directory submissions will bring.

The Webinar content will cover:

  • Why the Directory is being introduced
  • What data will be required from firms
  • What challenges this might present
  • What data updates will be required after initial submissions
  • The issues that the banks have faced in preparing for these new requirements
