IA comment on anti-circumvention rules in the new ISA regime
Commenting on HM Treasury's anti-circumvention rules in the new ISA regime, Jonathan Lipkin, Director, Policy, Strategy and Innovation at the Investment Association, said:
"ISAs remain one of the UK’s most important tools for building long‑term financial resilience, helping millions of people to save and invest.
"We very much welcome HM Treasury’s continued focus on the importance of encouraging more people to consider whether investment might be right for them and we appreciate constructive engagement on the new ISA regime.
"Ensuring that safeguards against misuse are effective without creating friction is inherently challenging, and we welcome the proposed approach that helps to ensure that Money Market Funds continue to be part of the way that investors and their advisers can diversify and manage risk."
